عن الضحاك بن مزاحم قال : قِرَاءَةُ القُرْآنِ بِاللَّيْلِ أثْبَتُ مِنْهُ بِالنَّهَارِ وَأشَدُّ مُوَاطَأةً بِاللَّيْلِ مِنْهُ بِالنَّهَارِ. [جامع البيان]. جاء في مصنف ابن أبي شيبة عن عبدالله بن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال : فَضْلُ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ عَلَى صَلَاةِ النَّهَارِ كَفَضْلِ صَدَقَةِ السِّرِّ عَلَى صَدَقَةِ العَلَانِيَةِ.
عن الضحاك بن مزاحم قال : يَأتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ تَكْثُرُ فِيهِ الأحَادِيثُ حَتَّى يَبْقَى المُصْحَفُ عَلَيْهِ الغُبَارُ لَا يُنْظَرُ فِيهِ. [الزهد للإمام أحمد - زوائد ابنه عبدالله].
عن الضحاك بن مزاحم قال : كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إذَا لَبَّى يَقُولُ : «لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ ، إنَّ الحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالمُلْكَ ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ». وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : انْتَهِ إلَيْهَا ؛ فَإنَّهَا تَلْبِيَةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
