عن الربيع بن خثيم : ﴿وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مَخْرَجًا﴾ ، قال : مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ضَاقَ عَلَى النَّاسِ. [الزهد للإمام أحمد - زوائد ابنه عبدالله]. وفي بعض ما يُروى عن هذه الآية ﴿وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مَخْرَجًا﴾ : «لَوْ أنَّ النَّاسَ كُلَّهُمْ أخَذُوا بِهَا لَكَفَتْهُمْ».
