قال الشيخ ابن عثيمين رحمه الله الأدعية الواردة في يوم عرفة منها ما قاله النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام: "خير الدعاء يوم عرفة، وخير ما قلتُ أنا والنبيون مِن قبلي: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك، وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير" وأن يكون الإنسان حين الدعاءِ والذكرِ حاضرَ القلب مستحضرًا عجزه وفقره إلى الله تبارك وتعالى، محسنًا الظن بالله.
