【7.21 警黑疑勾結 香港警隊聲譽從此徹底破產】 去年 7 月 21 日，大批白衣人在元朗港鐵站內襲擊市民及記者。當晚警方曾多次在白衣人聚集的地方經過，但沒有採取任何行動，兩名軍裝警員在到元朗站現場後更轉身離去。同時天水圍及元朗兩間警署落閘，大量 999 報案無人接聽。 元朗 721 襲擊事件，成為壓垮警方聲譽的「最後一根稻草」。去年八月初香港民意研究所進行調查顯示，市民對警隊的支持度大跌至 39.4 分，遠低於 6 月時的 61 分，是當時有紀錄以來的新低。其後香港民意研究所 11 月的調查更顯示，有四成受訪者給警隊「0 分」。 警方上周稱已拘捕 37 人，當中 7 人被控參與暴動及串謀有意圖傷人等，另外部分涉案疑犯正被警方通緝，不排除有更多人被捕，又表示一直與律政司保持緊密溝通，承諾會徹查到底。但翻查資料，警方去年 11 月已公布有 37 人被捕，到 12 月則有 7 人涉案被控，相關數字之後一直無更新。
