Сегодня с мальчиками по дороге из школы обсуждали пример, как география отражается в языке. По-русски мы говорим, что что-то приехало к нам из-за границы, кто-то находится за границей. Потому что Россия - континентальная страна. А в Австралии все иностранное - from overseas. Тоже понятно, почему.

На осенних каникулах мы решили попробовать новые занятия. На реке, в районе Nedlands, есть небольшой яхт-клуб, где детей учат управляться с лодками и где по воскресеньям можно просто ходить под парусом. Летом нас однажды позвали туда с собой друзья, и мальчикам моим понравилось. Единственный недостаток - река - бульон из медуз. Ровно год назад мы вот такими замученными, бледными и со сломанной у ребёнка ногой прилетели в Перт. Здесь должно было быть видео с лучшими кадрами за этот прекрасный год, но я сейчас не могу найти в себе душевных сил смонтировать что-то радостное. Но скоро найду.

Про словарный запас Каждый день в школе моим детям задают на дом придумать предложения с разными словами. Для внешнего наблюдателя (меня) слова кажутся абсолютно рандомными. В Австралии все настолько с детства привыкают защищаться от солнца, что на занятиях по плаванию в закрытом (!) бассейне 80% людей - в рашгардах (футболках для плавания), или rashie, как их тут называют. Когда я в прошлый раз не взяла на занятие раши, был скандал. Мои дети отказывались без них заходить в воду. Никакие доводы, что в помещении они не нужны, не работали. В итоге сегодня мы в них🤷🏼♀️
