Писатель я, или мне еще рано себя так называть? Тут два вопроса: кто? и какой? Быть писателем — это внутреннее решение, фиксация намерений. Без этого решения нелогично отвечать на второй вопрос. Почему, несмотря на простоту идеи «Черного лебедя» или «Антихрупкости», книги Талеба такие толстые? В них много примеров. Я бы даже сказал — примерок. Талеб примеряет идею на одну сферу жизни, потом на другую. Правда многие закрывают книгу на второй главе, кто-то дочитывает до середины, и лишь некоторые — до конца. Так зачем тратить бумагу? Книги состоят из книг, обо всем уже давно написано. Технически ничего нового сказать невозможно. Но читатель думает иначе, когда вдруг проживает старую мысль как собственную. Когда вопрос и ответ, давно живущие в его голове, встречают друг друга. Когда рождается новая эмоция, а за ней — новое действие.

Честно и без остатка отдаться безделию лучше, чем смотреть длинное интервью с автором бестселлера или читать толстую книгу с описанием нужного сеттинга. Переходить от полного ничегонеделания к работе гораздо легче, чем от бесполезной деятельности к полезной.

Глубина текста — это глубина связи между тем, что пишет автор и тем, кто он есть. Искренние строки о том как больно ударить мизинец о ножку кровати могут быть очень глубокими. Особенно, если они пришли в голову пока ковылял до письменного стола.
