Первый словарь чорти был опубликован в 1839 году Хуаном Галиндо в аналоге "Литературной газеты". Словарю этому не повезло - до недавнего времени он не был известен исследователям. Вывод: место печати и тогда имело значение.

В коллекцию жутковатых историй про то, как человек, работавший с рукописью, решил ее упростить, можно добавить историю про прекрасного и очень крутого Брайана Стросса, который набрал словарь из рукописи Висдома, у которого был еще тот почерк. Проблема в том, что помимо прочего Стросс решил привести орфографию словаря к современной и убрал буквы q, q' и x, которых современном чорти нет.
