Меня невероятно веселит, что в русскоязычной версии PHM единственное "holy fucking shit" на всю книгу перевели как "чёрт возьми! с ума сойти!!". Простите, этот человек не матерится никогда вообще и использует "детские" варианты ругательств даже в случаях типа "очень больно наебнулся с лестницы". Дайте ему сказать его единственное "блять" на весь сюжет, он был хорошим мальчиком, он заслужил.

For mental health reasons я пытаюсь в последнее время хотя бы сократить использование выражений типа "я сейчас вздёрнусь" и "я хочу сдохнуть" — но господи блять боже мой жизнь не делает это начинание простым. Сука. Думаем позитивные мысли и эскапируем в рандомную инопланетную гиперфиксацию. От этой планеты я сейчас не в восторге.

Я понимаю, почему это поменяли в экранизации, но меня бесконечно веселит разница между Грейсом-из-фильма, который типа «инопланетянин практически вломился в мой корабль — нет, стой — мне нужно пространство — мы две отдельных личности, ты не можешь просто так ко мне переехать, это невежливо — стой!!» и Грейсом-из-книги, который типа «о, ты спрашиваешь, можно ли тебе зайти в гости?? 🥺 конечно можно, заходи!! что ты хоч…

Я в восторге от того, что посреди напряжённой сцены с первым контактом с инопланетянами мы видим рандомный флешбек с рандомным судебным процессом, суть которого заключается в том, что глава проекта Hail Mary эээ спиратила весь интернет, чтобы закачать его на космический корабль. Вообще весь. Чтобы у астронавтов были все возможные знания. И заодно типа. Библиотека мировой литературы. И куча видеоигр. И фильмов. И всег…

Обожаю тот факт, что первая реакция Грейса, когда он впервые видит своего (будущего) инопланетного друга — это "блять, он паук, он здоровенный паук, блять" и инстинктивная попытка сбежать. а) мы с моей арахнофобией понимаем и одобряем, б) сэр, успокойтесь, это будущий смысл всей вашей жизни, чшш.

Вообще да, я на 99% уверена, что эта рекомендация тут особо никому не актуальна, но английская аудиокнига (читает Ray Porter) очень хороша. Это повествование от первого лица; он всю книгу звучит так, будто находится в состоянии (чудом и не полностью) контролируемой истерики. 1000/10.
