God is literally the Truth, which is why most people reject Him. People prefer subjectivity. They love to use deception to make themselves look good in the eyes of others. Truth is hard to live by, and often disadvantages the self, but that is EXACTLY what Jesus meant when He said "deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me".
