По рассказам очевидцев, они летели на очень низкой высоте и намеревались атаковать колонну ВС РФ. Пилоты, судя по всему, не выжили. Найдено тело одного из них (майор Коваленко) вместе с документами. Пленный морпех по имени Витя рассказывает, как пытались вырваться с завода «Ильича». Рассказывает о том, что вырваться пыталась вся бригада - больше 1500 чел. У многих были мысли сдаться, но после того, как двое морпехов попытались это сделать, их поймали свои и они исчезли.
