⚽️ Наверное, нужно подвести итоги прошедшего ЧМ в Северной Америке. На первом скрине — мой прогноз на плей-офф перед стартом турнира. Впервые даже нет особых поводов для стыда. 🏒 И в случае с олимпийской сборной Гилрой вел переговоры об оплате упущенного времени кулуарно, но хотел повесить их на кого-то другого. С местными властями Квебека и Онтарио проблем не возникло: Порт-Артур платил за «Биркэтс», Монреаль — за игроков «Роялз». 🏒 Возглавил команду Альберт «Аль» Пудас, тренер «Биркэтс» — урожденный Юхо-Альберт Путаансуу. В общем, уроженец Российской Империи (конкретнее — Великого княжества Финляндского). Семья Аля эмигрировала в Канаду, когда ему было всего 18 месяцев. Здесь он сделал неплохую карьеру — даже в НХЛ засветился. Любопытно, что перед отъездом в Европу вдруг выяснилось, что из-за какой-то бюрократической коллизии Пудас… остался б…

🏒 Продолжаем канадскую эпопею. Гилрой оказался жестким сторонником правила о цензе оседлости (нужно уточнить, что до этого чиновники организации использовали его спорадически, больше грозились). Регионы углядели здесь предвзятость к ним со стороны Центра. Справедливости ради, Гилрой больше пытался пресечь миграцию канадцев в Британию (в первую очередь) и США (эффект был слабым — наоборот, канадцы теперь не торопились…

🏒 Приморская хоккейная ассоциация любителей (MAHA) вошла в КАХА лишь в 1927-м. Вскоре разразилась Великая депрессия, которая сыграла свою роль и в хоккейной жизни Канады. Рост безработицы вызвал массовую трудовую миграцию, что приводило к распаду местных общин. Естественно, среди переезжающих с места на место канадских трудяг было и много хоккеистов-любителей.
