حتى تكون أصغر كل شيء وأحقره! قال ابن القيم رحمه الله: "ومن عقوبات المعاصي أنها تصغر النفس، وتقمعها، وتدسيها، وتحقرها، حتى تكون أصغر كل شيء وأحقره، كما أن الطاعة تنميها وتزكيها وتكبرها، قال تعالى: {قد أفلح من زكاها - وقد خاب من دساها} [سورة الشمس: ٩ - ١٠] ، والمعنى قد أفلح من كبرها وأعلاها بطاعة الله وأظهرها، وقد خسر من أخفاها وحقرها وصغرها بمعصية الله".
