В зону плёсского притяжения на Масленицу попали близлежащие города, включая и Москву тоже. Народ тусил, бузил и веселился на Верхнем пруду. Особый энтузиазм при этом проявляли дети. Когда для конкурсов понадобились те, кому за 8 лет, парочка умных четырёхлетних детей потребовала от ведущих, чтобы их возраста сложили и в сумме получили 8 лет на двоих. Их допустили к состязанию.
