کورتیکواستروئیدها با کاهش جذب کلسیم و افزایش دفع آن و مهار فعالیت استئوبلاست ها (سلول های سازنده استخوان) سبب کاهش تراکم استخوان و ایجاد استئوپروزیس ثانویه (استئوپروزیس ناشی از یک عامل شناخته شده) می شوند. داروهای پایین آورنده قند خون مثل سولفونیل اوره ها و تیازولیدین دیون ها سبب کاهش تراکم استخوان یا همان bone mineral density و در نتیجه افزایش ریسک شکستگی استخوان می شن اما این داروها منجر به استئومالاسیا و استئووروز…
