К слову об операторской работе, которая на поверхности не выглядит чем-то сверх-особенным - “Обсессия” - очень понравилась! Супер крутой образец темной тональности, а работа с силуэтами и полусилуэтами - вообще в топ (особенно, учитывая реальную степень актуальности такого визуального решения). Делюсь интервью со светоцехом, что само по себе очень удивительно (реально интервью гаффера и бэст-бой\пультовика, без опер…

Все знают и любят фильмы снятые по произведениям Стивена Кинга. В большом количестве, уверена. Линклейтер говорит, что «черно-белый формат очень прощающий», когда речь идет о стилизации, и соединении архивных материалов с недавно снятыми. Согласна с ним - и вообще, уверена, что создать эстетику в чб - базово не то чтобы проще - она нативно есть. Над "цветом" работал французский колорист Йов Мур. Он предложил создать эффект изношенности пленки, чтобы фильм выглядел как копия второго или третьего поколения, снят…

Работали почти полностью на натуре и в локациях, за исключением пары сцен, для которых в реальности не осталось аналогов. В том числе эпизоды в отеле «Hôtel de Suede». По свету, всё-таки пришлось прибегнуть к современному. Производство обязывает..) За окна на скай Arri M40 и Lightstar LuxEd 12, поддерживая мягкий дневной свет. Но внутри помещения и рядом с актерами использовали только то, что было у кинематографисто…

В основном снимали на Sony Venice 2, используя два сета объективов: Kowa FF и Cooke S2/S3. "В зависимости от сцены и освещения я переключался с одного на другой. Оба набора очень старые. Мне было приятно экспериментировать с аберрациями, чтобы максимально приблизиться к этому ощущению". В процессе, Шамбийе также снимал на пленку (Ilford HP5 и Kodak 5222, камера ARRI 2C). К счастью, создание «На последнем дыхании» хорошо задокументировано. "Мы нашли много заметок от супервайзера по сценарию, так что смогли выяснить, в какое время снимались сцены, каким объективом, изменился ли текст и многое другое". Среди прочего были обнаружены чек на платье Джин Сиберг, сценарий с пометками, принадлежавший Годарду, и, смету расходов на пленку Ilford HP5 и аренду камеры.

Линклейтер поставил задачу снять "обратную точку к Годаро-Куратовским кадрам". С ощущением, что фильм принадлежит той эпохе, в которую был снят «На последнем дыхании». Для оператора это значит имитировать текстуры, зернистость, освещение, формат и другие эстетические аспекты, а также использовать съемочные приемы, применявшихся в то время.
