Вкотре слухаю збірку найкращих хітів єгипетського співака Хаміда Ель Шаері Slam Years 1983-1988 від лейблу хабібі фанк. Навіть якщо вам не подобається умовно арабська музика, я б все одно радив спробувати саме цей альбом, бо це дуже талановито зроблений фанковий поп, який бере все найкраще як від західної традиції, так і від східної. Тираж касет лімітований до 200 (але ще є в наявності наче), звучить класно, басєц …

Перший за 4 роки альбом Afghan Whigs вже у серпні, сингл як завжди кайфовий, Грег Дулі поганого не зробить. Особисто для мене з цим гуртом цікаво те, що їхня камбек ера (починаючи з Do to the Beast) подобається сильно більше ніж класичні альбоми 90х типу Gentlemen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55Err1-C8rI

Ще один кандидат в топ-10 року для мене, це культові у вузьких (неформат) колах швейцарці Impure Wilhelmina з альбомом Le Sanglot. Виключно французькою мовою (і це прекрасно!), фірмовий меланхолійний пост-хардкор, майже тільки з чистим вокалом. Хіти також присутні (еліктрісіте нуар я прям постійно наспівую), серединка трохи провисає, але останні дві пісні на Le Sanglot теж дуже гарні й загальне враження від альбому …

Знов зібрались з Оленою в рамках рубрики Ex libris для того щоб обговорити Арво Пярта, релігію, духовність та книгу "З тиші" видавництва "дух і літера". Не завжди так кажу про наші подкасти, але мені здається вийшло справді цікаво, особливо якщо у вас нема алергії на релігійні теми. Прекрасний, неймовірно красивий альбом від бразильського музиканта Кайо Лемоса (та деяких гостей). Акустичний блек, бразильский фолк, пост-мінімалізм. Ця музика ідеально пасує кінцю весни. Поки що особисто для мене "шляхи води" - один з найцікавіших альбомів року. Але варто сказати, що я взагалі маю слабкість до бразильської сцени, а звучання португальської мови вважаю найкрасивішим у музиці в принципі. #альбоми202…

В цьому році є мікротренд (приємний для мене), коли гурти випускають альбоми без промо, тисячі синглів якогось хайпу і оцього всього що мене бісить в сучасній музиці. Раптово повернулись Wu Lyf з другим за 15 років альбомом A Wave That Will Never Break. Можливо ви їх пам'ятаєте за піснею Heavy Pop. А можливо не пам'ятаєте, бо вони розпались одразу після дебютника. Спочатку новий альбом Джуліана Лейджа мені не сильно зайшов та здався доволі посереднім, але чимдалі тим я більше знаходжу в ньому цікавого й тим більше мені хочеться до нього вертатись. Не знаю чи є Лейдж перехайпованим гітаристом, але на Scenes From Above, він все ще вміє витримати ідеальний баланс між мелодією та демонстрацією скілів. А ще тут є легендарний Джон Медескі, та і взагалі склад зірковий. #альбоми2026…

Пройшло 2 місяці 2026го року. Давно я тут не зʼявлявся, тому зроблю короткий дайджест нових альбомів, які мені сподобались. Переважно це інструментальні релізи, якось так вже співпало. 1) Erik Hall - Solo Three. На цьому ЕР (? 37 хвилин - можна в принципі і як повноцінний реліз трактувати) композитор Ерік Холл грає різну класику мінімалістів - від Глена Бранки до Стіва Райха. Я таке люблю і альбом вийшов дуже приємн…
