Одинокая сине-сизая ягода торчит на верхушке растения. Немного ниже ее - розетка из листьев, в норме из четырех, хотя я видела мутанта с пятью листьями. Васильки ассоциируются с синим цветом, потому что самый известный вид васильков - василек синий (Centaurea cyanus). Это не самый частый вид в Ленинградской области. В обрыве на берегу моря - норки ласточек-береговушек. У них горячая пора, надо успеть выкормить птенцов за короткое северное лето. Береговушки питаются насекомыми, причем ловят их чаще всего в полёте. В холодные или дождливые дни, когда ловить некого, ласточки остаются в норках, а если непогода и бескормица затянулись, могут собираться кучковаться для сохранения тепла, и даже впадать во временное оцепенение с пониже…

Привычно мы отличаем растения от других организмов по зеленой окраске. Но бывают растения совершенно не зеленые - потерявшие зеленый пигмент хлорофилл за ненадобностью, не умеющие фотосинтезировать. Про то что орхидеи - мастера обмана насекомых, мы уже писали. И первые среди среди них - орхидеи из рода офрис (Ophrys). Продолжаю показывать находки из северных странствий. На широкой литорали Белого моря в районе мыса Глубокий нашли ракушку улитки. Это трубач или букцинум (Buccinum undatum).
