Ибн аль-Джаузи: «Я заметил, что одного лишь занятия себя фикхом и заучивания хадисов едва ли будет достаточно для праведности сердца, если не добавить к этому изучение тем о смягчении сердец и ознакомление с жизнеописанием праведных предшественников» (См. «Сайд аль-Хатыр», стр. 228).
Яхья ибн Му’аз: «Болезни тел заключаются в физических страданиях, а болезни сердец — в совершении грехов. И так же, как тело, будучи больным, не чувствует вкус еды, так и сердце, поражённое грехами, перестаёт ощущать сладость от поклонения» (См. «Замм аль-Хава», стр. 68).
