أحسنتُ ظنِّي بالأنامِ فخانني من كان يلبسُ للوفاءِ قناعَا حتى سقتني الحادثاتُ تجاربًا جعلتْ من الإدراكِ لي مصباحَا فاليومَ أعرفُ بالقرائنِ معدنًا وأرى النفوسَ كما تكونُ صباحَا ليستْ فِراسةُ عاقلٍ سوءُ الظنِّ لكنَّها بعدَ التجاربِ لاحَتْ وِشاحًا.

يريك البشاشة عند اللقــا ويبريك في السر بري القلمْ نعوذ بالله من ذي الوجهين
إن اللئيم بقبح القول تعرفه وبالحوار طباع الناس تكتشفُ فنُ التَّخاطب ذوقٌ ليس يُدركه إلّا كريمٌ بحسن الخُلق يتَّصفُ
لولا التغافُل عن أشياء نعرفُها ما طاب عيشٌ ولا دامت موداتُ
