۱) نخستین بار در اوستا، نخستین اثر مکتوب جهان، واژهی گئو دیده شده است که ناز نامی مقدس بر نیرویی است که بتواند در رفع مشکلات انسان ها، پهلوانی و گئوگری کند. از این روی وقتی که یک گاو هَمتَن با نیروی یک پهلوان ِ همیار (هیار) در زندگی کشاورزی و شبا…
گات همان "گُت" یا "گُد" و گُئد و یا گُهد لری است که با گفت و گفتن متفاوت است. (همچنانکه «بار معنایی گئو در بختیاری با ککا و برار در دیگر شاخه های قوم لُر فرق می کند».

منظور از "گئو تِشن" در گاتها، «نیروی تراشیدن نیکی رسان» است و "تاشیتن" در زبان پهلوی، همان تاُشیدن بختیاریها است و …
بنابراین گئو در واژگان لری بختیاری، نیرویی سود رسان، فریاد رس، پهلوان صفت و گره گشای است. آیین گئو گری در بختیاری، بر پایهی آنچه گفته شد، سبب ساز سبقت گیری مردان و زنان در کارهای نیک است. آیین گئوگری یا آئین برادری در بختیاری، یک رسم جاودانه است و تا امروز به حیات خود ادامه داده است.
