אחד הניסים הגדולים שקרו במלחמה בס"ד יאיר וחבריו היו מספר שבועות במאהל גדול בתוך עזה, שם הם ישנו, ואכלו, משם הלכו ולשם חזרו. המקום היה מוקף טלוליות עפר והם הרגישו שם בטוחים יחסית. לאחר חודש הם קיבלו מידע מודיעיני שיש פיר מנהרה ממש מתחת לאוהל של החיילים, ושעלולים לצאת ממנו מחבלים בכל רגע. הם עזבו את האוהל כמו שהוא ותצפתו מרחוק בערך יומיים. ואז האמצע הלילה עלה מחבל מהפיר, החיילים ירו עליו ופתאום היה פיצוץ אדיר, כל המאה…
