እግዚአብሔርን አናውቀውም... ቅዱስ ኤፍሬም ሶርያዊ ያልጻፈው ምን አለ? በቅኔያዊ ውበታቸው ዛሬም ድረስ ተወዳዳሪ የሌላቸውን እነዚያን ድንቅ መጻሕፍት የጻፈው ቅዱስ የጌታን ክብር ባሰበ ጊዜ ግን "ገናንነቱን መናገር አይቻለንምና ዝም እንበል።" ይላል። ቅዱስ ኤፍሬምን ያኽል ባለቅኔ "ልናገረው አልችልም" ያለለት ክብር እንዴት ያለ ነው? ብዙ የውዳሴ ቃላት በፊቱ እንደ ዝምታ የሆኑለትን የእርሱን ክብር የሚመረምር ማነው? “እግዚአብሔር ታላቅ ነው፥ እኛም አናውቀውም።” የሚለው የኤሊሁ ምስክርነት የታመነ ነው።
