مثل همیشه توی مترو، کتاب میخوندم. به ایستگاه رسید و پیاده شدم. چندقدم نرفته بودم که آقایی که موهایش سفید بود، از پشت سر صدایم کرد و گفت: میخواستم یه سلامی بهتون بکنم و ازتون بابت اینکه کتاب میخونید تشکر کنم. خندیدم و تشکر کردم. تا ورودی مترو همقدم شدیم و گپ زدیم. او بیشتر من کمتر. مقداری هم متلک انداخت. موقع خداحافظی گفتم روز خوبی داشته باشید. گفت روز از این بهتر که یه آقایی رو با کتاب دیدم!

کم نیار فحش بده! داشتم درباره یکی از مناقشات تاریخی میان ایران و عثمانی (پیش از فروپاشی) کتابی میخواندم. مناقشهای که کارش به درگیری در رسانهها کشیده شده بود و به صورت رفت و برگشتی مطالبی نوشته میشد. یک پژوهشگر تاریخ درباره این مناقشات گفته بود خیلی از مطالبی که در رسانهها منتشر شده بود اگر در آن زمان نوشته نمیشد این ماجرا عمق پیدا نمیکرد و به نقطه بحرانی نمیرسید. یعنی شور و هیجان رسانهای خیلی وقتها مفید نی…

خیابانی دنج در قلب مسکو، اولین اثر از این نویسنده روسی است که به فارسی ترجمه شده. نویسندهای که بعد از انقلاب بلشویکی تبعید شد. روایتی از انسان در دل جامعه بحرانزده، جامعهای درگیر جنگ و بعد درگیر انقلاب. جامعهای که در آن، عشق و امید آدمها را سر پا نگه داشته تا ادامه دهند. تلخ و دوستداشتنی بود.

یک پژوهشگر انگلیسی (ادوارد هلت کار) درباره علت نوشتن از سوژههای تاریخی میگه: چون کارمند وزارت امور خارجه بودم، نمیتوانستم درباره موضوعات روز بنویسم.

میگه: دولتهای راست که سرکار بودن چون همه یکدست بودن، تکلیف روشن بود یا مجوز میدادن یا نه. ولی وقتی اصلاحطلبان سرکار بودن با وجود آزادیهای فرهنگی، گروههای مخالف دردسر درست میکردند. مثلا کاری در زمان احمدینژاد اجرا شد ولی در دوره روحانی بهش فحش دادند. در این دوران راحت مجوز میگرفتیم ولی خیالمان راحت نبود و میترسیدم دردسر درست کنند.

زمانه طوری بود که کسی زیاد در فکر مسائل شخصی، احساسات و حتی موسیقی نبود و دربارهشان صحبت نمیکرد. جنگ همه را به خود مشغول کرده بود و حرف زدن درباره چیزهای دیگر قدری غریب مینمود. ــ از یک کتاب.
