11 июля 2026 года исполнилось 110 лет со дня рождения выдающегося физика, нобелевского лауреата Александра Михайловича Прохорова. 13 июля состоялось мероприятие с возложением цветов к памятнику учёному, установленному в 2015 году на пересечении Ленинского и Университетского проспектов в Москве. Монумент появился здесь не случайно — рядом с Институтом общей физики, который Александр Михайлович возглавлял многие годы.
