Don't forgot R1a/R1b have a brother in Iran/SC Asia called R2. So yeah they for sure have Siberian ancestry. Ma'lta boy in Siberia dating 24,000 BP lived close in time to the common ancestor of R1 and R2. He confirms the Siberian origin of both of them.

or is Iran Mesolithic part Tajik_Mesolithic ? At the very least, it seems pretty certain this one sample is mostly descended from the Paleolithic Central Asian ancestors of Iran_Mesolithic.

There is one Mesolithic-era DNA sample from Central Asia, specifically from Tajikistan. It dates to approximately 8,000 BP, so it is relatively young for a Mesolithic sample. It provides some insights into the origins of the "Iran" category. His mtDNA belongs to haplogroup U7. Something that makes the Mesolithic Middle Eastern DNA in Europeans unique is it doesn't contain stuff from the Levant-Arabia and Iran categories in this model. And it is overwhelmingly Anatolian.
