Мы издаем газету "Водный транспорт" только последние 15 лет. Ее собственник - Российская палата судоходства. Они получили газету в тяжелом состоянии, архивов не было. Старые номера газеты мы смотрели в Российской национальной библиотеке (в СПб). Никаких контактов…

Заказал модный ныне отчёт о себе из украденных (или, скажем так, продолбанных) персональных данных. В целом вся информация понятно откуда взялась, но есть одно исключение. Что это за господин Дубоссарский — загадка.

Копаясь в архиве города Радома нечаянно проследил за судьбой Иосифа-Флориана Цисловского. Вот в 1890 году он переходит из австрийского подданства в русское. А вот в 1895 году городской магистрат заключает с ним договор на чистку труб, причем сразу на шесть лет: с 1896 по 1901 гг.

Как-то так получилось, что я свое древо веду на сайте geni.com, но удобнее это делать, кажется, на сайте MyHeritage. Перенос в какой-то степени автоматизирован, конечно, благодаря формату GEDCOM, но руками все равно нужно будет очень много всего делать если займусь. Теперь страдаю :)

А еще мне очень нравится, насколько точно совпадают поколения. Казалось бы, 150 лет прошло, войны, урбанизация, что угодно еще, однако же. Я с женой родился в один год. Пра-пра дедушка и бабушка моей супруги поженились в 1887 году, им было 26 и 18, мои — в 1888, когда им было 25 и 17. С разницей в 6 месяцев. Понятно, что это только одна из восьми пар (просто тут мне точно известны даты). И все же :)

Восхищаюсь поиском по архивам Яндекса. Вот сейчас вспомнил, что давно не смотрел одно дело, взглянул — и пожалуйста, брачный обыск пра-пра-дедушки и бабушки супруги. Но всегда сложнее обратить внимание на то, чего нет. Напомню, что история моей фамилии имеет одну загадку. Мой прямой предок по мужской линии — Григорий Степанович Карпюк. Вернее, Ярмоцюкъ, именно так он, его сестра и брат были записаны в метрических кн…

На Реддите набрел на карту с обозначением стран, откуда произошли вице-президенты США. Первый вопрос, который возник у меня, оказался только в восьмом по популярности комментарии: как можно однозначно говорить о происхождении человека? Часто бывает, что родители из одного города, намного реже — все четверо дедушек и бабушек. Но неужели в США, где происходит такое масштабное смешение всех со всеми, современный человек…

MyHeritage чуть обновил свои алгоритмы вычисления национальности. У меня картина не слишком изменилась (только исчезли какие-то доли процентов из Африки). Интересно, что я ничего не знаю о предках с Балкан. Самое географически близкое — родители бабушки, они украинцы с Волыни, но это все равно 1/4.

Выцепил из московского архива прежде секретное дело на моего дедушку. Оказывается оно о снятии взыскания, наложенного на него семью годами ранее за утрату партбилета. Судя по всему дедушке на всю эту историю было достаточно наплевать, тем не менее формальности надо было соблюдать, тем более в 1951 году. В протоколе все четко: ВОПРОС – Как теперь храните партбилет. ОТВЕТ – Надежно. А в шапке дела указано, как именно…

На прошлый день рождения я сам себе подарил 2 или 3 часа работы на сайте Калужского архива. Ничего выдающегося тогда не нашел, но было интересно. Это обошлось в 114 рублей.
