Many people believe you need a scoby (mushroom thingy) to make Kombucha and search high and low for someone with some to spare. When you can so easily grow your own, because the scoby is in fact a bi-product of the fermentation process and not really the bit that is needed to make Kombucha, but the liquid from the last batch is the most important thing! Here are some ideas of how to consume them and gain the MANY benefits from them...
Mix through salads for a less strong taste
Add kefir water/milk/yogurt to salad dressings
Water down kombucha or water kefir
Add kombucha or water kefir to fruit juice
Add water/milk kefir or kombucha to smoothies
Add anything fermented veggies or drinks to dips, dressings and sauces after any cooking stage

For many years I made Kombucha the standard way (you can check this out in the comments of this post).
