#امروز_در_شيمي 17 مارس کارل ژاکوب لویگ شیمیدان آلمانی در این روز در سال 1803 متولد شد. او برم (Br) را با اضافه کردن کلر (Cl) و اتر به آب کشف کرد و یک ماده قرمز رنگ یافت. در حالی که لویگ این ماده را مورد بررسی قرار داد، آنتوان بالارد کشف مستقل بروم را منتشر کرد.
