Берлинская операция. 16 апреля 1945 года началась Берлинская стратегическая наступательная операция. Штурм осуществлялся силами 2-го Белорусского фронта маршала Рокоссовского, 1-го Белорусского фронта маршала Жукова и 1-го Украинского фронта маршала Конева. Уже через 5 дней наши передовые части вышли на северную и юго-восточную окраины Берлина.
Освобождение Вены. 13 апреля 1945 года войсками маршала Толбухина освобождена от немецко-фашистских захватчиков Вена. За освобождение города 50 воинских соединений и частей получили наименование «Венских», была выпущена медаль «За взятие Вены».
Освобождение Одессы. 10 апреля 1944 года войска одессита генерала Малиновского освободили Одессу от фашистов. Над Оперным театром был поднят красный флаг. Одесса одной из первых получила высокое звание «Город-Герой».
День героического штурма и взятия Кёнигсберга. 9 апреля 1945 года войска маршала Василевского штурмом взяли Кёнигсберг – столицу Восточной Пруссии (ныне - российский Калининград). Город-крепость брали штурмовые отряды и группы, которые шли за огневым валом. В Москве был дан салют высшей категории.
Освобождение Братиславы. 4 апреля 1945 года советские войска освободили Братиславу от немецко-фашистских захватчиков. Войскам маршала Малиновского потребовалось всего 2 дня, чтобы изгнать нацистов из главного города Словакии. Благодарными словаками установлен монумент освободителям на горе Славин.
