Поэт и философ У Диогена Лаэртского в IX книге можно прочитать, что некоторые возводят школу скептиков аж к Гомеру: у него, утверждают они, есть высказывания об одном предмете с разных сторон и совершенно нет какой-либо догматики. Общее место Меня всегда впечатляло, как Чехов вводит в весьма динамичный в повествовательном плане рассказ «Ионыч» пространное описание кладбища. И если задуматься, выходит, что именно кладбище в рассказе – центральный эпизод. При этом, нельзя сказать однозначно, когда и из-за чего именно начинается стремительное падение Старцева, и более того, повода опошлиться у него в общем-то и не было: с Туркиными связь порвана…
