2 measurements taken within a single day. Dots are measurements; the straight line between them is drawn to join them, not to claim we know the path taken in between — snapshots are recorded only when a count changes, so gaps mean “no change observed”, never “interpolated”. The vertical axis spans 340–342 and does not start at zero.

Engagement

20 posts held, back to 10 May 2023the reader has not yet reached the start of this channel’s public history, so older posts may sit further back, unread. Read across 1 pageof Telegram’s post history, 20 posts per page.

Nothing published in the last 30 days. ERR and ER are rolling 30-day measures, so there is nothing to compute — we hold 20 posts for this entry, the most recent from 21 May 2023. An engagement rate over an empty window would be a number about nothing.

From the Life of St. Victor of Glazov: "Immediately after the arrest, the interrogations began. The investigators demanded of Vladyka [Victor] that he implicate other arrestees. For the first eight days of interrogations, he was not permitted to sit or sleep. A protocol with absurd accusations and false testimony was prepared ahead of time, and day after day the interrogators, one after the other, kept repeating the

"Altogether, one can divide the Russian Orthodox population in the USSR into the following groups: The first group of strict and true Orthodox Church people, who for the most part live a spiritual life in the interests of the church, as the Body of Christ. This group has in no way ever recognized and does not recognize the Soviet Patriarchate. This group has completely gone into the catacombs. The second group cons

Concerning the Martyric death of Archimandrite Michael (Kostiuk) of Kiev: The Elder often said that no-one would know where his grave would be. And so it turned out. He knew both the day and the hour when they would arrest him. On the eve he said to his novice: "Tomorrow come with your cassock. We shall have 'guests'!" He arrived as the Elder had ordered him, suspecting nothing. At the appointed hour the Elder him

"Orthodox Christians! Stand up against the power of the red Antichrist! Do not listen to anyone's calls to reconcile with him, no matter from whom these calls come! There is no peace between Christ and Satan. By the authority given to me by God, I absolve and release all believers from the oath given to the Soviet self-proclaimed government, for Christians are not subjects of Satan. With the power given to me from Go

Saints Daniel Bondarenko, Onesimus, and Arsenius Kordi (this is the same Archimandrite Arsenius who is mentioned in the Life of St. Joseph of Petrograd and who dug out the underground church at which Vladyka served in Alma Ata - see the Life of St. Joseph of Petrograd in "Russia's Catacomb Saints") Note: I'm not sure who is who in this picture. The names are not necessarily in any order.

Woe and alas! - may this not occur to any of us! A. V. Krivolutsky, the son of the well-known Catacomb Confessor Fr. Vladimir Krivolutsky, writes: "... we are reminded of a story about one Staretz, likewise being a bustling and very paternal individual, who was firmly convinced that the basis of his assiduous activities was his genuine love of his neighbor. This tireless staretz believed in this up to his final day

In general one may say that the unparalleled sufferings of contemporary Russia have caused many of us to be rather too loose with our use of the words “martyr” and “confessor”. These words have specific meaning for Orthodox Christians: they refer to those who consciously suffer and die for Christ and His True Church, not for “humanity” or “Christianity in general” or even for “Orthodoxy” if it is not true Orthodoxy.

A very interesting assessment and one supported by many Saints: "Patriarch Tikhon had predicted that a critical point would be reached 'when the hierarchy of the Church breaks faith with Christ and delivers the spiritual freedom of the Church up to the Soviet government.' The hierarchs who founded the Catacomb Church saw this point actually reached in the Declaration of Metropolitan Sergei. In 1927, Metropolitan Ser

Showing the 12 most recent of 20 posts we hold for @catacombsaints. View and reaction counts are the latest single reading for each post, not a live figure, and a recent post is still accumulating both. A view count marked was rounded by Telegram before we ever saw it — t.me prints views in full below 1,000 and to three significant figures above, so ≈1,200,000 means somewhere between 1,150,000 and 1,249,999. Unmarked counts are exact. Text is reproduced from the public post preview and truncated for length.

Forward network

Republishes

Channels on the register whose posts this channel has forwarded.

Built only from forwarded posts we have actually read, on both sides. Coverage is early and deliberately incomplete: a missing link means we have not read the post that would prove it, never that the relationship does not exist. Counts are distinct forwarded posts observed, so they only ever go up as we read more.
