غم از منظر اسپینوزایی حالی روانشناختی نیست بلکه با کاهش توان بدنها تعریف میشود. و کاهش توان عمل کردن با اقبال تودهها(تودهها در زبان فلسفی اسپینوزایی ترجمه شده نگین کمونیست بازیه) به بندگی همراه است. غم حالتی است که در آن توانِ عمل کاهش یافته است و حالی است که همواره بندگیِ خودخواسته را همراهی میکند
