"من أهم أسباب تغيير طباع المرء إلى الأفضل (الدعاء) وقد جاء في طبقات ابن سعد [٢٧٤:٣] أن أول كلام تكلم به عمر رضي الله عنه حين صعد المنبر أن قال: «اللهم إني شديد فليني، وإني ضعيف فقوني، وإني بخيل فسخني"."
"وصف ابن الجوزي شهر رمضان فقال: «ما من دعاءٍ إلا مسموع، ولا عمل إلا مرفوع، ولا خيرٍ إلا مجموع، ولا ضررٍ إلا مدفوع».. كانوا السلف يخصصون دعوات يلحُّون عليها طيلة شهر رمضان في السجدات، وأدبار الصلوات، وقبل الإفطار وعند الإفطار، وفي الأسحار".

اغتنموا فسحة أعماركم وقوة أبدانكم في الإقبال على الخيرات في رمضان؛ فإن لكل شيء سوقاً، وإن سوق الآخرة رمضان، وإن من هُيِّئ له أن يدخل السوق ليربح ثم ٱنصرف عنه فهو من أعظم الخاسرين، وإن الخسارة التي لا ربحَ بعدها خسارةُ العبدِ مغفرةَ الله ورحمتَه.
أبشروا وأعدُّوا أنفسكم، فقد قرُبت جوائز رمضان: الفوز بالجنَّة، والعتق من النَّار، وشرطها: المسابقة في الخير: اجتهادًا في الطَّاعة، واجتنابًا للمعصية، وأمده: أيامٌ معدوداتٌ، فيا باغي الخير أقبل، ويا باغي الشَّرِّ اقصر… اللَّهمَّ بلِّغنا رمضان، وبارك لنا فيه بالبرِّ والإحسان.
قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إذا كان أول ليلة من شهر رمضان صُفدت الشياطين ومردة الجن، وغُلقت أبواب النار فلم يفتح منها باب، وفُتحت أبواب الجنة فلم يغلق منها باب،وينادي منادٍ: يا باغي الخير أقبل ويا باغي الشر أقصر، ولله عتقاء من النار وذلك كل ليلة" - رواهُ الترمذيّ والنسائي والحاكم
