من درر ابن القيم رحمه الله: "القلب في سیره إلی الله -عزّ وجل- بمنزلة الطّائر، فالمحبة رأسه، والخوف والرّجاء جناحاه، فمتی سلِم الرّأس والجناحان، فالطّیر جیّد الطّیران، ومتی قُطع الرّأس مات الطّائر، ومتی عدم الجناحان فهو عرضة لکلِّ صائدِِ وکاسر". (مدارج السّالکین 417/1)
