كنت أظن أن العقل يشبه الكأس. تمتلئ، ثم تتوقف. أعجبني أن بعض علماء المسلمين وصفوه بطريقة مختلفة تمامًا. العقل عندهم لم يكن شيئًا يُملأ. كان شيئًا يُربّى. ولهذا لا أعتقد أنني سأصل يومًا إلى مرحلة أقول فيها: "تعلمت ما يكفي."

لا أظنّي ربطت يومًا الصبرَ بالشجاعة إلا بعد قراءتي لهذه المقولة الدقيقة المنسوبة لاحدهم عندما سئل: ما الشجاعة؟ فقال «صبر ساعة». ربما لأن الصبر يتضمّن الإيمان بالنتائج التي غالبًا ليست مرئية في الحال ولا مضمونة ماديًا. الأكيد أن هناك قوّة تصاحب الصابر: «إن الله مع الصابرين». 🌿

بعد عمرٍ معين لا يعود مقبولاً أن نُلقي اللوم على الطفولة، أو على الأب الغائب، أو جفاء الأم، أو المدرسة التي لم تفهمنا. قد تفسر هذه الأمور الكثير، لكنها لا تُبرَر كل شيء. الحياة تتطلب شجاعة.. شجاعة الشفاء، وإعادة البناء، وأن تصبح الشخص الذي لم يُعلمك أحد كيف تكونه، إما أن تبقى أسيرًا لما جرحك، أو تكتب قصة جديدة لنفسك. الألم لا يمكن تجنبه لكن المصير يُعاد خلقه كل يوم.

أحيانًا لا يرى الناسُ خطأ أفعالهم لأنهم محاطون بأشخاص جعلوا تلك الأفعالَ عادية، عندما تكون البيئة مشوهة تصبحُ الأخطاء سلوكا مقبولا والتجاوزات مبررة والانحرافات تعاد تسميتها ولهذا لا يكفي أن تكونّ نقيًا بل يجب أن تُحيط نفسك بِمَن يُذكرك بالصواب لا بِمن يُطمئنك إلى الخطأ.
