أعرف جيدا شعورَ ألاَّ تنالَ ما تمنّيت وأفهمُ تمامًا صوتَ المرء الداخلي حين ينظرُ إلى شيءٍ هو متاحُ للآخرين، لكِنه بعيدُ المنال عنه - أعي حزن آخر الليل وخيبةَ الاستيقاظِ على وَاقع لم يتغيّر أعرف مرارةً خسارة الحلم، وصعوبة الرضا بما هو موجود بينما يتعلّقُ القلبُ بالمحال ولعلّي عشتُ ذلك الشعور الذي عبّر عنه محمود درويش حين قال : هَلّ في وُسعي أن أختار أحلامي لئلا أحلمَ بما لا يتحقق؟
هل تذكرين أحاديثنا لقد تناقشنا في كُلّ شيء وتبادلنا الآراء حول مختلف المواضيع المهمة أو التافهة.. كم كُنْتِ بريئة.. لقد كان لكِ رأي طفوليّ في كُلّ شيء وكان لي رأي واقعيّ في كُلّ شيء إن الحبَّ كان يجمع آراءنا دائماً.. ولكن يا شمس كان للقدر رأيٌ آخر لم يكن بالحسبان.

عندما أُخبركِ أنَّكِ شمسي لا أقصدُ الشَّمس في منتصف تموز عندما يكون كُلُّ شيءٍ دافئًا بل أقصد الشَّمس في ظلمةِ الشتاء حين تخنقها الغيوم حينما أكون قد شعرتُ بالبردِ لفترةٍ طويلةٍ جدًا نسيتُ بعدها معنى أن يكون المرءُ دافئًا وفجأةً تظهرين أنتِ لتذكرينني بشعورِ الضوء لذا عندما أقول أنتِ شمسي لا أقصدُ أن أبدو مبتذلًا لكن ببساطةٍ.. قبلَكِ كانت سمائي دائمًا رمادية. - ويتني هانسون
