Karasu: Özgür Özel bazı gerçekleri ortaya koydu. Yönetim olarak "Destekleyeceğiz." dedi fakat biraz milletvekillerini serbest bıraktı. Bu doğru bir yaklaşım değil.
Mustafa Karasu: Eğer bu sorun çözülmek isteniyorsa ve toplumun desteği alınmak isteniyorsa muhalefetin de bu işin içine katılması gerekir. İktidarın bu konuda yetersiz yaklaşımları oldu.
Karasu: Böyle bir süreçte iktidara yakın basın gerçekten doğru rol oynamadı. Bu sürecin toplumsallaşması konusunda üzerine düşeni yerine getirmedi
Karasu: AKP yandaşı basın, bu süreci gerçekten demokratikleşme temelinde sahiplenen bir dil kullanmadı. Hep böyle işte, savaş döneminin dilini kullandı. Bu bir yönüyle iktidarın seçim kaygısı, oy kaygısı.
Mustafa Karasu: Bu sürece karşı çıkanlar aslında savaş istiyorlar. Bu sorun yenme yenilme sorunu değildir; bu yönüyle çözümsüz kalsın demek, savaş sürsün demektir.
Karasu: Demokratikleşme bir lütuf değil, mücadele ve uzlaşmayla ortaya çıkar. Bu nedenle hem Kürt halkının hem de Türkiye'deki demokrasi güçlerinin sürece seyirci kalmayıp aktif rol oynaması gerekir.
Karasu: Yeni mücadele dönemi yeni bir stratejidir; bu strateji silahlı mücadeleyle değil, halkın demokratik siyasal mücadelesiyle sonuca götürülecektir.
Karasu: Kürt halkının demokratik toplum biçiminde örgütlenmesi gerekiyor. Kendisini komünler, meclisler biçiminde demokratik toplum hâline getirmesi gerekir. Demokratik toplum demek, siyasal gücü olan toplum demektir.
Mustafa Karasu: Bu sürecin esas amacı Demokratik Cumhuriyet'e ulaşmaktır. Bu Demokratik Cumhuriyet'e de ancak demokratik toplumla ulaşılır.
