"In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good."
– Ecclesiastes 11:6
"In the morning of youth lay out thyself to do good; give out of the little thou hast to begin the world with; and in the evening of old age yield not to the common temptation old people are in to be penurious [...]."…

MEDITATION ON THE EASY YOKE
How can the yoke of God's people with Christ be described as "easy" when it requires sacrifice, turning from old ways, remaining separate from the world, enduring hardship, suffering persecution, and mortifying the flesh in a terribly painful journey? Surely this 'easy' is relative, then. In that case, how heavy must the alternative be! And how heavy Christ's yoke, who takes the heavy loa…

SERMON NOTES
"And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me."
– Isaiah 12:1
The addressed shall realise their ruin, and they shall find a Saviour from that ruin. This is applicable also to a temporary neglector of the means of grace, or a backslider. They are informed that they are out of the way and are turned by God'…

MINISTER QUOTE - HYPER THEOLOGICALISM
It is inspiring to see a wave of theological revival overcome mere emotional "evangelicalism". However, as often occurs, there are movements who have thrust themselves into a full pendulum swing. Many are focused on theological facts instead of spiritual growth towards and with God.
Princetonian Archibald Alexander (1772-1851) reminds us of a very important truth:
"Be much in …

SECOND DAY OF THE WEEK
Don't forget what you heard yesterday. Revise your notes or relisten to the sermon when you can (if it is recorded). Take lessons from it, for both your outward and inward actions.
WSC Q90: How is the word to be read and heard, that it may become effectual to salvation?
A90: That the Word may become effectual to salvation, we must attend thereunto with diligence, preparation, and prayer[1]; r…

REFLECTIVE SERMON
Although we do not agree with Spurgeon on some things, a brother sent this to one of my groups. Listening to it was very impactful and the tone is very in tune with one of this group's themes – not being a hypocrite.
I have not posted for ages, but DV I will get back to posting snippets to meditate on.
God bless

TYPOLOGICAL CONCEPT
Christ as our effective Neighbour. The only One who is our true Neighbour.
He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’

PRAYER REMINDER
"Pray then like this:
'Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.' "

"Seeing that the glorious bloodshed of Christ is not so impotent, as being of force to save the greatest sins and sinners, it should not be able to purge the smaller infirmities of the Saints, and if any think their prayers and obedience all but in fashion, this sense with grief showeth that it is not altogether in fashion, and the sense of this imperfection doth more please the Lord, then the imperfection doth displ…

"You mourned over the transgressions of your neighbours: their deficiencies you deemed your own."
-Clement of Rome to Corinth
Clement of Rome wrote to the Corinthians in a time where there was strife sown by wolves; yet, he thanked God for the Corinthians' godly behaviour before the wicked leaven leavened the whole lump. Let us take this particular example of the Corinthian congregation in these times, when there is…

View and reaction counts are the latest single reading for each post, not a live figure, and a recent post is still accumulating both. A view count marked ≈ was rounded by Telegram before we ever saw it — t.me prints views in full below 1,000 and to three significant figures above, so ≈1,200,000 means somewhere between 1,150,000 and 1,249,999.
