قد أمر النّبيّ ﷺ بكثرة ذكر الموت، فقال: «أكثروا ذكر هاذم اللّذّات، الموت».. وفي الإكثار من ذكر الموت فوائد؛ منها: أنّه يحثّ على الاستعداد له قبل نزوله، ويقصّر الأمل، ويرضي بالقليل من الرّزق، ويزهّد في الدّنيا، ويرغّب في الآخرة، ويهوّن مصائب الدّنيا، ويمنع من الأشر والبطر والتّوسّع في لذّات الدّنيا.
