ثبت في الصحيحين عن أبي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه ؛ أنه قال لرسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - : علمني دعاء أدعو به في صلاتي ، قال : قل : اللهم إني ظلمت نفسي ظلما كثيرا ، ولا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت ، فاغفر لي مغفرة من عندك ، وارحمني ، إنك أنت الغفور الرحيم .
عن أبي المنهال قال : " ما جاور عبد في قبره من جار خير من استغفار كثير.

قال رسول الله ﷺ: «إن لله ملائكة سيَّاحين في الأرض، يُبلِّغوني من أمتي: فلانٌ سلَّم عليك ويُصَلِّي عليك، فلان يُصَلِّي عليك وسلَّم عليك»
قال ﷺ: من قال : (لا إله إلا الله، وحده لا شريك لهُ، له الملك وله الحمدُ، وهو على كل شيء قديرٌ) في يوم مائةَ مرةٍ كانت له عدل عشر رقاب وكتبت له مائة حسنة ومُحيت عنه مائة سيئة وكان في حرز من الشيطان يومه ذلك حتى يمسي ولم يأت أحد بأفضل مما جاء به إلا رجل عمل أكثر من عمله.
