Es wirkt betäubend und entzündungshemmend und wurde traditionell bei Zahnweh und Mundbeschwerden eingesetzt. In der Kosmetik wird es gerade als Antiagingwunderkraut entdeckt, da es Falten reduzieren soll. Wenn es gerade wächst kann man einfach hin und wieder ein Köpfchen kauen. Die Parakresse, oder auch als Jambu oder Acmella oleracea bekannt ist eine wirklich beeindruckende Pflanze. Nicht gerade auffällig sondern dezent und unscheinbar, lässt sie jedoch beim Genuss die Lebensgeister Samba tanzen. So zog sie vor 4 Jahren auch hier auf der Ranch ein.
