طبق یافتههای زمینشناسی، بدنه اصلی دریاچه ارومیه در حدود ۱۳ هزار سال گذشته خشک نشده بوده است. همزمان با خشک شدن دریاچه ارومیه، اگر یک طوفان نمکی در غرب کشور جاری شود این ذرات نمکی و شور میتوانند ریشه گیاهان و درختان در منطقه غرب و شمال کشور را بسوزانند و عملا تمام کشاوزی شمال غرب و شمال کشور را نابود کند. @IRANAZADIii
