اليوم 8 صفر، حدث في مثل هذا اليوم سنة 1424 هجري قتل المُتأسف على شبابه السيد عبد المجيد الخوئي (طاب ثراه) على يد عصابات لا تعرف معنى الرحمة، قتلوه في داخل الحرم الحيدري الشريف، رحمة الله عليه، واللعنة الدائمة على كل من قتله وشارك في قتله ولو بكلمة.
