Talisker Skye NAS Almost sure that I read somewhere the descriptor "slutty" or "whorish" related to it; there is certainly some notes of makeup and lipstick (floral? vanilla?) over peat, iodine and seaweed; certainly feminine; an image of a port whore wouldn't be approved by their marketing department but certainly has its Dionysian appeal: hides its age, comforts but in a transient way.
Bodegas Benito Urbina Seleccion Rioja 2000 Black pepper, some reductive astringency, coffee, plum, a bit of leather, old wardrobe; a character not of an old lady but of a boring middle-aged man. Maybe I need different wine glasses. 87/100

Torres Clos Ancestral Forcada 2024 A historical variety being revived as part of a project run by Torres. Ripe yellow apple, a bit of quince, straightforward, body on the fuller side, acidity on the lower side. A refined industrial approach doesn't produce wonders with historical varieties, although the result is important for reference. 86/100

Nyetimber Classic Cuvee Зеленое яблоко, белый персик, чуть-чуть выпечки, грушевый джем, айва, алыча. Добротно, уровень Виктора Дравиньи, но вот эти айва и алыча совершенно английские, очень часто встречающиеся в английских шардоне. 87/100

Donnafugata Etna Sul Vulcano 2022 100% карриканте, очень яблочное, яблочное семечко, яблочная кожура, структурное, сливочное, сидровые тона, заварной крем, чуть зеленых тонов, в развитии горящая спичка. Конвенционально, объемно, но вау-эффекта выраженно не хватает. 88/100

Balfour Pinot Noir 1503 Kent 2024 Сладкая спелая черешня, спелые мягкие танины, это пьется как добротный новосветный пино нуар; это элегантно и спокойно, но в нем нет нерва, нет глубины, нет аттрактора, нет сложности. 87/100
Balfour Chardonnay 1503 Kent 2022 Совсем не северное, айва, алыча, вслепую бы определил в саваньин/клевнер/хайду; отличная структура и баланс, но это совсем не стиль шабли. 88/100

Le Chablisienne Cuvee Centenaire 2023 Сделано кооперативом Le Chablisienne для K&L, название — потому что сто лет кооперативу. Довольно похоже на предыдущее вино, но гораздо более кремнёвое, чуть больше общей минеральности, выше кислотность, менее расслабленное. Чуть более полнотелое, чем ожидаешь, и в целом больше похоже на Chablis Premier Cru. Отличное шабли. 90/100
Стоило конечно же дешевле, чем Chalone из предыдущего поста.
Anonymous Wine Collective Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2024 Свежая речная вода в первом носе, очень элегантно, тонко, умно; почти не чувствуется дуб; практически все стороны сортового профиля очень красиво интегрированы. Очень чистое, легкие фенолы оформляют структуру. Нет характерного электричества гор Санта-Круз, оно куда более спокойное; это и не Бургундия, и не топовая Аргентина, это очень красивое и элегантное выраже…

Вообще это же постараться надо, когда у вас есть культовый виноградник со старыми лозами в уникальном терруаре на сравнительно большой высоте. Впрочем, учитывая американские реалии корпоративного менеджмента в вине, совсем не факт, что это с того виноградника. США конечно поразительная страна.

Chalone Chardonnay 2023 Легендарное хозяйство; Chalone Chardonnay 1974 заняло третье место на Judgment of Paris. В 80-х там работал виноделом великий Кен Райт. После смерти основателя дважды меняла собственника, сейчас бренд принадлежит корпорации; винодельня закрыта в 2026 году (виноградник, вероятно, остается). Сливочное масло, диацетил, не хватает кислотности, нет нерва, напряжения и структуры. Это фиаско. Не поку…
