Engagement
20 posts held, back to 17 April 2023 — the reader has not yet reached the start of this channel’s public history, so older posts may sit further back, unread. Read across 1 page of Telegram’s post history, 20 posts per page.
Nothing published in the last 30 days. ERR and ER are rolling 30-day measures, so there is nothing to compute — we hold 20 posts for this entry, the most recent from 23 April 2026. An engagement rate over an empty window would be a number about nothing.

Measured directly from 1 video with a duration reading, out of the posts we hold for this channel — not this channel’s whole posting history, only the sample this register has actually read. An exact reading to the second, taken from the post itself rather than from Telegram’s own rounded chrome, so it carries no ≈ mark.

Introducing The Pirate Sea's new script, the Youtube Raider. A great quality of life browser script that allows you to manage subscriptions, history, whitelisting/blacklisting (parental controls) and scrape metadata without effort as you browse Youtube. Arghhh, we av' decided it's about time t' undock this fine vessel and let er' sail. Oe'r th' next few weeks, we'll be rewritin' The Pirate Sea from scratch wit' multi-user functionality in mind, an' pushin' our progress t' Github in real time as we go. A basic login and updater are already live, ye' can clone/run it by typin' git clone https://github.com/thepiratesea/thepiratesea.git . && bash thepiratesea.sh in y…
Rearranged the datacenter room to allow for more expansion. We now have a setup that will allow us to scale up in the foreseeable future. I've been thinking about launching a series of websites that are dedicated to streaming specific shows. This should be relatively easy to achieve with the scripts I've written to run a local playlist, and just publish the results to webserver. Hopefully if we target the proper show…

Merry Christmas fellow pirates! The downloader tool to archive Youtube videos/metadata, strip the ID3 data, hash the files and add all of metadata to our format is finally complete and pushed to the Github repository. Since Youtube has gotten increasingly aggressive, I've added a little script that will automatically switch VPN nodes if there is an error (currently only works for PIA, but I can add support for other…
I bit the bullet and ordered another 20TB. I haven't been scraping Youtube videos for about a year, I was hoping HDD prices would come back down but I figure it's time to catch back up. I have however, been scraping metadata. These are my results with the youtube scraper script so far. "Video Metadata" is the title, date, description and channel ID for the specific video. About 1.55M of them are videos that I've act…
This project ain't dead dudes. I'm still scraping away, I'll share some info soon

Showing the 12 most recent of 20 posts we hold for @thepiratesea. View and reaction counts are the latest single reading for each post, not a live figure, and a recent post is still accumulating both. A view count marked ≈ was rounded by Telegram before we ever saw it — t.me prints views in full below 1,000 and to three significant figures above, so ≈1,200,000 means somewhere between 1,150,000 and 1,249,999. Unmarked counts are exact. Text is reproduced from the public post preview and truncated for length.

A live page changes as we take new readings, so a citation should name the measurement it is based on, not just the URL. The line below cites the subscriber count as measured 11 October 2026 — this entry's latest reading, not the date you are reading this.
