سَئِمتُ دروبَ العيشِ حتى كأنّني أُساقُ إلى الأيامِ سوقَ غريبِ فلا فرحٌ يُغري الفؤادَ بقُربِهِ ولا حلمُ أمسِ اليومَ فيهِ نصيبِ أرى الناسَ تمضي في الحياةِ كأنّها تُجيدُ ابتسامَ القلبِ بعدَ نحيبِ وأمضي وحيدًا، لا أُريدُ سوى الهدى إلى هدوءِ قلبٍ أنهكتهُ الخطوبُ خَمَدْتُ، فلا شوقٌ يُحرّكُ خاطري ولا في لياليَّ القديمةِ من طِيبِ.
يا هاجُس اللَيل هل أدركَت مأَسُاتي أَنا الغَريُق وهذا الليل مرساتَي أتيتَ نحوك أيامي تطاردني وأحَرف الأمَس تَاهت حَول أبَياتي بداَيتي تنَتهي َوالدربُ ينكرني طعمَ البَدايات عنَدي كالنَهايات علَى الخريَطُة لا سهم يطاوغني صَار الشمَال جنَوباً من معَاناتي يا هاجس الليل أزمَانَي مبعَثرة لا اليوم يومي ولا الساَعات ساَعاتي خذني إليكَ فوجهُ الصَبح يقَلقني بالَليل خذُني وعرَفنُي على َذاَتي.
