Скажу так, я понимал это чувство, видел, как оно движет людьми, как делает их сильнее… и слабее. Иногда завидовал, иногда презирал. Но если бы когда-нибудь я действительно влюбился… то, вероятно, это была бы не просто привязанность, а нечто всеобъемлющее. Такое чувство не оставляет места ни страху, ни сомнению. Оно или возносит – или сжигает дотла.

Когда живешь так, как я, понятие «влюбленность» становится чем-то далеким. Для большинства это чувство – тепло, близость, доверие, а для меня – испытание. Романтическое влечение требует открыться, а открытость – уязвимость.

Я не питаю злобы. Их выбор – их путь. Но сожаление… да, возможно, оно осталось. Иногда я ловлю себя на мысли, что скучаю не по ним, а по тем дням, когда мы еще верили, что сила способна защитить, а не разрушить.
