2-3년 전에는 해외의 크고 작은 프로젝트들과 미팅을 할 때 한국 국적의 분들이 거의 없었습니다. 아발란체에 계신 저스틴님이 한국 헤드로 당시 조인하셨던 정도가 생각이 나네요. 이후에 체감 상 2년 정도 전부터 한국 시장의 훌륭함(?)에 대해서 프로젝트들이 많이 알게 되었고, 1년 정도 전(2024년 중반)부터 한국 국적의 BD 분들을 상당히 많이 뵙게 된 것 같습니다. 단순히 한국 리테일의 힘에 기인한 것만이 아니라 KOL, 리서치펌 등의 업계 관계자 분들과 함께, 한국 헤드로 계신 분들이 각자의 자리에서 너무 좋은 활약을 보여주셔서 재단들이 한국시장에서 얻어갈 것들이 종합적으로 많아졌기 때문에 그런 것으로 여겨집니다. 근래 많은 분들과 커피챗을 하게 되면서 논스에 계셨던 분들을 많이 뵙게 되는데, 논스 출신 분들의 업계에 대한 기여가 …

이번주 화요일(5/13)이 제 업비트에서의 공식 퇴사일이었습니다! 정신없게 일하다보니 벌써 3년이 지나 있었네요, 일이라는 것도 말초적인 만족감을 주는지라 열심히 한다는 그 느낌 자체가 주는 중독이 분명 있고, 그 덕분에 조금 더 달렸던 것 같습니다. 과거 19년 디사이퍼 활동 때는 보지 못했던 블록체인의 철학이 디파이서머 때 갑자기 선명하게 보여서(ㅋㅋ) 업계에 아주 들어와야겠다고 생각했었습니다. 짧게 VC를 거쳤다가 업비트에서 가상자산 ‘전문가’로서 일하며, 벨류체인의 중심에 있었던 거래소 덕분에 업계의 다양한 플레이어들과 교류하며 빠르게 업의 윤곽에 대해서 배울 수 있어서 운이 좋았다고 생각이 듭니다. 굳이 관성을 깨고 퇴사를 하게 된 이유는 새롭고 재밌던 것이 어느순간 재미가 없다고 느껴졌기 때문입니다. 팀장직도 맡게 되면서 전문…
