Nel 1934 l'italiano Michele Di Nuzzo provò a elaborare una teoria sorprendente: le apparizioni spettrali non sono casuali, ma hanno un'ora cosmica precisa. Lo fece analizzando un'ampia casistica, notando che l'influenza della luna piena e del sole poteva in qualche modo agevolare questi fenomeni.
