الجميعُ يعيشُ قِصَّةَ ابتلاءٍ، لا أحدَ خاليًا من الهمِّ، ولكنَّ الأجورَ تتفاوتُ ! هناكَ مَن بلغَ منازلَ عاليةً في الجنَّةِ بالصبرِ وهناكَ مَن خسرَ هذهِ المنازلَ بالتضجُّرِ. ومَن استشعرَ حقيقةَ الدُّنيا، وتأمَّلَ في العاقبةِ، لواجهَ هذهِ الابتلاءاتِ بنفسٍ راضيةٍ عن تدبيرِ اللهِ، ولسوفَ يرى كيفَ يفتحُ اللهُ عليهِ بِالغيث المَديدِ .

مرِض أحدُ التّابعِين فلمّا زارَتهُ أمّهُ، قامَ فلَبسَ وتَأَنّقَ، كأَن لَم يكُن بهِ بَأسٌ. فلمّا خرَجَت، سَقطَ مُغشيًّا عليهِ، فسُئل عَن ذلِك، فقالَ: «إِنّ أَنِين الأبنَاء يُعذّبُ قلُوبَ الأُمّهات!» رُبّما لَم يُقدّم لكَ والدَاكَ كُلّ ما ترِيد لكِن. تأَكّد أنّهُما قدّمَا لكَ كُلّ ما يَملِكان. فقلْ: ﴿رَّبِّ ٱرْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرࣰا﴾.
